It’s our 3rd Birthday!

today12 March 2021

We have come a long way since we began broadcasting in March 2018. As we approach our 3rd birthday we have looked back at how far we have come, our wonderful volunteers, community network, forged relationships, and we feel very proud of Dane Sound Community Radio.

We are a non-profit voluntary group and provide a wide range of programmes, community shows, events & chat shows. Throughout COVID-19 we have supported community events with specialist programmes such as the U3A 10th Anniversary, Scott Penlington Foundation Tournament & Goostrey Rose Day, and we help community groups, charities, events and businesses promote themselves all year round.

However, these are exceptionally challenging times for everyone. With all events and opportunities to fundraise cancelled we find ourselves, in our biggest year of broadcasting, with a financial black hole. As everyone will be acutely aware, running costs still keep going even through a national lockdown. At Dane Sound this includes internet, licensing, insurance, website & marketing, broadcasting software, music and equipment.

Cheshire Pet, Neon Freight & The Print Room have advertised on Dane Sound from the beginning, and we thank them for their continued support, along with local businesses supporting our many Lockdown Events, Rumble in The Jungle, Lights Up! At Christmas and currently Lockdown Scarecrows. We also receive funding from Local Groups, Parish Councils, The Partnership, and not forgetting the many private donations – an enormous thanks to all of you for your support.

How can you help? Every donation helps – no matter how small or large! You can donate via our website at, or you can email us at [email protected] and arrange payment into our bank account or a cheque. You can also choose us as your local cause with the Co-op Local Community Fund.

Businesses can support us with advertising, sponsorship or a donation. Please contact us for further details.

We look forward to continuing to be a pivotal part of our community, offering a unique and valued community radio service in our area. To listen in and view our weekly schedule visit
